Cromarty Open Gardens, studios, art and flower display

02 July 2022

Starts: 11:00
Ends: 16:00

Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July   11.00 - 4.00

Cromarty Open Gardens weekend will be held on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July, 2022.  In the past, there has been a trail of gardens from the smallest - visible only from the street - to woodland settings, quirky designs, or more formal set-ups with structured beds and amazing displays of flowers.  There is something for everyone and inspiration to be gained; there are photo opportunities galore and a chance to see the hidden gardens behind walls and hear the stories behind many of them!

Running in parallel with this from Saturday 25th June to Sunday 3rd July, there will be an amazing exhibition of flowers and paintings in the East Church - always a popular event!

This year, we are hoping to combine Open Gardens weekend with Open Studios, where a few of our local artists (in all senses of the word) will open up their studios for viewing.

Tickets £5.00  cash only

 Saturday 2 July  12.00 - 3.00   Merkinch Nature Reserve

Clachworks will be formally launching its tool donation drive at our Sharing Economy Gala on Saturday 2nd July 2022 at the Merkinch Nature Reserve (12pm - 3pm). We’re delighted to be holding this in partnership with the North Highlands and Islands Climate Hub, Highlands Adapts, Merkinch Nature Reserve and Cantraybridge College.

See our event page here for more details.

This event will also sit alongside a host of other initiatives as part of the wider Highland Climate Festival taking place between 25th June and 3rd July 2022. Check out the full programme here

Our Sharing Economy Gala will include the chance for members of the public to bring along tool donations, be inspired with tips about reuse and repair, take part in activities and games for all the family, and sample a selection of locally sourced food and drinks, with a BBQ provided by Cantraybridge College. All are very welcome and we look forward to speaking with anyone who’s able to come along.

We are part of the rapidly expanding worldwide Transition Towns movement. The Black Isle is a peninsula of about 100 sq miles ENE of Inverness in Scotland, UK.
